LVC Newsletter March 2009

by Administrator 6. March 2009 09:19

March 6th, 2009

Greetings Culinarians, and welcome to the March addition of the Little Victory Newsletter!    We at LVC have a lot to look forward to this month: the first day of Spring (is anyone else tired of snow?!), Daylight Savings Time, and of course Saint Patrick’s Day. Every year many people observe this holiday in a variety of ways, and this year LVC is changing it up.  Instead of the usual Corned Beef and Cabbage, we’re trying a new world approach this Saint Patrick’s Day and are encouraging people to host beer tasting parties. What better way to celebrate than with good food and hoppy libations? Little Victory Catering plans on taking the guess work out of your events by pairing five popular Irish style brews with a tasting menu of both stationary and passed items.  Traditional Irish cuisine with an American twist meets five great beers that whet your palate, speak to your heart, and make your event a little victory.  Please see the attached flyer for details and contact us for pricing!

Another great addition to this month’s roster is the Little Victory Catering Cooking Classes. Whether you’ve always wanted to learn how to make pasta from scratch, fill your home with the smells of fresh baked bread, learn to make inexpensive meals on a tight budget, or are just trying to up your game in the kitchen, Little Victory Catering can help.  For a limited time, I will be giving classes at a reduced rate in your home for a small fee and the cost of food.  Shopping, Clean-up, equipment, and instruction are all on me…all you need is a pinch of desire and a dash of open mind.

Lastly, we’d like to thank all of you who participated in our Customer Survey for the Local Victory Project.  You all had some very interesting things to say and some great input, and for that we at LVC are forever grateful.  We will continue to update you all on our progress with Local Victory as we go along, and remember to check the website and blog frequently for updates!  If you haven’t added us to your blogroll you can access the blog by visiting www.littlevictorycatering.com  and click the link under “Latest Info” and then click “Subscribe”.  That’s all from the Culinary Front this month!

Until we meet again…Make your next event a Little Victory,

Little Victory Newsletter: February 2009

by lvc_chef 10. February 2009 03:04
February 10th, 2009
Greetings and welcome to February; the Valentine's Day Month!

As some of you know, Little Victory Catering is offering a selection of three-course menus for your Valentine's Day pleasure and convenience with our Valentine's Day To-Go holiday special, which is available for Drop-Off Service until February 13th, 2009. Our packages range from $140-160, and custom menus are also available. There are still a few spots available, so get away from the standard Teddy Bear and Chocolate Routine, and do something truly thoughtful for that amazing person in your life. Please see the attached flyer for details!

In addition, it has been an exciting month for LVC, as we had the chance to attend the 5th Annual RI Local Food Forum, put on by Farm Fresh Rhode Island this past Wednesday, February 4th.  The forum brought together local farmers, chefs, schools food services, restaurateurs, caterers, and institutions to network and converse about best practices for local food sourcing and to innovate new ways to develop our local food system. There was also much discussion about the social, environmental and economic benefits of supporting local family farmers through direct food purchasing.

These topics were very close to our hearts as we continue the launch of Local Victory. Local Victory, our newest project, is a virtual (online) retail store inspired by the local growers and providers of exceptional food products in Southern New England and is scheduled to launch in Mid-Late Summer 2009. The Food Forum provided us with many great contacts and sources, including White Barn Farm, Blue Skys Flower Farm, and Matunuck Oyster Farm, which will help fuel our upcoming Local Victory line of sauces, marinades, soup mixes, pickled items and more. Little Victory Catering would like to thank Farm Fresh Rhode Island for making this event possible, and reminding us that local food is an amazing resource, just outside our doors.
Remember, if you haven't taken our survey on which kinds of products you'd like to see on the Local Victory list, take a moment and fill out our three-question survey hosted by our friends at SurveyMonkey! (

We are also proud to announce the release of the Little Victory Catering Blog.  The LVC Blog has all of our latest information on events, services, images, and discounts so check back frequently. Many thanks go out to our fabulous web designer Wayne Hunt for making the blog possible. You can find him, and links for many other great sources on our Blogroll at
www.littlevictorycatering.com under "More News".

That's all from the Culinary Front this month, and thanks for joining!
Until next month…

Little Victory Newsletter: January 2009

by lvc_chef 14. January 2009 07:23

January 13th, 2009Greetings and Happy New Year!    Welcome to the Little Victory Catering monthly mailing list! Inside, you'll find all you need to know about the current happenings with Little Victory Catering, and information about wonderful upcoming products and promotions!  First, thank you again to those who helped with, and attended the Little Victory Catering Mixer last October at Franklin Country Club. It was a rousing success, and could not have happened without all of you!

Next, some of you have received the latest information on our Valentine's Day To-Go holiday special. We are pleased to announce that all packages advertised are available for Drop-Off service: the 3-course Valentine's Day dinner of your choice can be brought right to your front door for your convenience. We're extending this offer until February 13th, 2009, so all you last-minute types will still have a chance to plan something special for your Valentine. The cost varies per menu, so give us a call or send us an email for pricing and further details!

Finally, we are proud to announce the upcoming launch of Local Victory, our newest project at Little Victory Catering.  Local Victory is a virtual (online) retail store inspired by the local growers and providers of exceptional food products in Southern New England and is scheduled to launch in Mid-Late Summer 2009.  All of the products Local Victory will offer will be made with the help of local farmers, growers, and purveyors.  Farmstead Inc, Milk & Honey Bazaar, Venda Ravioli, & Sakonnet Vineyards are among the many local businesses that will be contributing to Local Victory products.  We believe that local agriculture and sourcing are absolute necessities in this time of financial difficulty.  Buying from local vendors helps to not only drive the local economy, but also to promote a sense of community. The freshness and quality of local products are typically second to none, and through Local Victory you are free to enjoy these products at a reduced cost. Also, many of the products sold through Local Victory are preserved items, which help keep your pantry stocked for little money!

If you think we're on to something, please follow the link to a quick three-question survey hosted by our friends at SurveyMonkey!

Until next month…
